Backend/db: * ASPNET (Minimal api) or Go/Rust is great too (assuming AI is writing the code) * PostgreSQL * Dragonfly (95% of projects don't need it tho) For hosting Astro projects, you can use Cloudflare Workers. For anything else (including Next.js), use a VPS. You can rent a VPS for as low as $2/month, and it is more than enough to host everything. Avoid Vercel. Stripe is still the standard in terms of payments.

pretty much still the same for us in 2026 honestly. next.js, supabase, vercel still holding up fine. the one thing that shifted is the ai layer...we use a mix depending on the task rather than committing to one model. stripe hasnt moved, still the default. the thing i'd flag is supabase row level security gets painful when your permissions logic gets complex. spent way more time on that than expected. nothing wed swap out but definitely something to architect early rather than try to retrofit later
