What worked better for us was treating docs as part of the feature itself. If a feature wasn't documented, it wasn't really finished. We still keep a human in the loop because AI is great at drafting, but it often misses context or assumes things that aren't obvious to users. I don't think building docs was a mistake. Good documentation has saved us a lot of repetitive support conversations, so the time investment has paid off.

Since AI and vibecoding, I simply build doc UI components like Mintlify and adding SKILL or cursor rule to update doc together when new logic /files are added in monorepo.
