commentI stopped beliving in motivation long time ago. If this is how you have always operated then this is what your brain is used to and will gravitate towards. You could almost say that those behaviour patterns are hard coded into you which is why they are always so challenging. You can either accept that the process will suck because your brain resists it or you can break down the task into small managable chunks so the number of decisions you have to make decreases. Leave all the things that distract you in another room, clean up a table if you are going to use it. There are a lot of strategies, at one point it is less about strategy and your willingess to do the smallest parts and actually get X moving forward. Brain is an organ that stores our conciousness and all that. I find it helpful to see it as such, memories are neuron connections, if you cannot recall something is because the neural connection weakened. Same with behaviour patters, if you procrascinate by scrolling unless you remove the phone from your area, your brain will do what it always does to "protect itself" from cognitive load. We experience high cognitive loads on daily basis, so doing tasks as much as making sure your brain rests, is not constantly hit by dopamine kicks from scrolling is a step towards changing the way your brain as an organ functions, the pattern it recognises and stears you into. There are concious and inconcious decisions, on average around 5% of our decisions are xouncious while 95% are automated responses to the environment we are in and impulses brain recives.
