Why $10,000 to begin with? Just because it's a nice round number? Or is this what you actually need in order to survive day to day without a conventional 9-5? There's nothing wrong with pursuing your passion or not wanting to grind away making someone else rich, but if you have the means to survive the next 9 months without a regular job and you intend to make a full run at this I'd hammer down some more specifics and temper your expectations before you waste the entirety of it pissing into the wind chasing an unobtainable metric. You're a CS major. Use some of that data/engineering brainpower and engineer some actual data.
