That bundled private is so low that I would question the knowledge of the provider... no legitimate, qualified professional would do that work for that price.
commentGeorgia accountant and tax pro here.... That bundled private is so low that I would question the knowledge of the provider. It's going to ba AI or offshore; no legitimate, qualified professional would do that work for that price. The average price nationwide for an S-corp return is right at $1,000 by itself, with no bookkeeping included (depends on which study). You need a competent bookkeeper and tax advisor. That can be the same person or different providers. Your tax advisor should be a credentialed tax professional (CPA, Enrolled Agent, or attorney). I suggest having a separate bookkeeper. The separation allows for some checks and balances, so that one party is not responsible for everything. Also, the bookkeeper is usually less expensive. You may pay $185 and hour for bookkeeping from a CPA firm vs $65 an hour from a bookkeeping firm. Just bear in mind that some accountants will not do tax returns for companies if they don't also do the books. They want to have trust in the work, and that can be tough if using an unfamiliar and unrelated firm. You can find a credentialed tax professional using the IRS Directory that allows you to search by name, city, state, or ZIP. https://irs.treasury.gov/rpo/rpo.jsf You can also search your state board of accountancy or state bar. You can seek referrals from other business owners in similar situations. You want someone who is going to provide proactive tax advice and who has experience with corporate returns. If they have experience in your industry, even better. You may also want someone with experience in employment classification, given you ate 1099-heavy. The IRS has ramped up enforcement of misclassified employers/contractors, specifically calling out construction and building trades as an example. Any qualified CPA or Enrolled Agent can handle all of this.
You'll end up paying someone like me to fix it in a few years.
commentHi, not to be overly solicitous, but professional services are one of my core areas. 1. If you are considering an S-Corp or have one, you need professional advice. I think you are conflating full-service accounting (books and tax services) with a CPA as a whole. Plenty of us do full service, and plenty of us don't do book work. Some do both but offer little advice/planning. It all depends, but at your size, full service would be about the same price. Compared to a bookkeeper and a tax Pro. The reasonable minimum for books alone is about $300-500 a month. If you’re less than that you should have questions. Fairly simple Entity returns are about $1200-$2000 depending on your local area, plus your personal return. 2. Lol. No. Please don't do that to yourself. You'll end up paying someone line me to fix it in a few years. It's cheaper and easier up front. 3. Word of mouth is always good, but professional services aren't overly complex in accounting terms. Hopefully that's helpful

RISKS & ASSUMPTIONS
Top Risks
Attracting qualified, high-tier CPAs who are willing to join a new platform before it achieves critical mass is challenging.
Users have been burned by low-quality services and will demand strict proof of vetting before trusting a new directory.
Business owners and matched CPAs may move their billing and relationship off-platform after the initial introduction.

Generate an investment memoWhat this score means
This opportunity scores well above the median for ideas surfaced by MonetScope, with a validation sub-score of 9/10 against 3 independently sourced evidence signals. A "strong" rating in this band typically means the pain signal is consistent and recurring across multiple discussions, but one of the three pillars (severity, willingness to pay, or competitor weakness) is somewhat softer than top-tier opportunities. Founders evaluating this should focus customer discovery on the softest pillar first — confirming the gap before committing engineering time to a build.
Why this matters for Marketplace founders
It sits at the intersection of "automation", "compliance", "consultants", which makes it relevant to a specific subset of founders rather than a generic horizontal opportunity. Marketplace opportunities require credible answers to the chicken-and-egg problem on day one. The founder evaluating this should look hard at whether one side of the marketplace already has a forced reason to participate (existing community, regulatory requirement, supply scarcity) before assuming the other side will follow. The MonetScope pipeline surfaces this category alongside other marketplace signals, which is why it appears here rather than in a generic "trending ideas" feed.

Frequently asked questions
Is "VettedCPA: Specialized Accountant Matchmaker for 1099-Heavy Small Businesses" a real validated startup idea or just an AI-generated suggestion?
MonetScope does not generate ideas from a language model's imagination. Every opportunity on this site is anchored to specific source posts and comments from real public discussions — typically on Reddit, Hacker News, or X — where actual users describe the pain in their own words. The AI's role is structuring, scoring, and grouping those signals into a navigable opportunity, not inventing the problem.
How recent is the underlying data for automation?
MonetScope's spider pipeline runs continuously and surfaces opportunities as new evidence accumulates. The "Updated" date in the header reflects the most recent re-scoring of this specific opportunity. Most marketplace opportunities visible in the public catalog draw from discussions in the last 30-60 days; older signals are de-prioritized because user pain shifts faster than most founders assume.
What's the difference between "overall score" and "validation score"?
Overall score is a composite across six dimensions — pain, urgency, willingness to pay, market size, defensibility, and execution ease — designed to give a single number for triage. Validation score is narrower: it asks "how cleanly does the same signal repeat across independent sources?" An opportunity can score high on overall but lower on validation when one or two large discussions dominate the evidence; conversely, validation can be high on a smaller-overall idea where the signal is consistent but the addressable market is modest.
