Free weekly drop · Updated Mondays

This week's 10 highest-scored startup opportunities — straight from real Reddit, HN, and X discussions.

We mine public posts every day, score them for pain intensity and demand, and surface what people are actually complaining about — and willing to pay to fix. Skip the brainstorming. Pick from a list that's already validated by real users.

  • Top 10 opportunities from the last 7 days, scored 1–10 across pain, demand, market, and defensibility
  • Verbatim user-language quotes — see exactly what people said, not our paraphrase
  • Suggested product type (SaaS / API / Tool / Marketplace) and target persona
  • One email per week. No spam. Unsubscribe in one click.

How we find these opportunities

MonetScope ingests roughly 8,000–15,000 posts and top-level comments per week from a curated set of 50+ Reddit communities (r/SaaS, r/Entrepreneur, r/smallbusiness, r/freelance, r/devops, r/sysadmin, plus vertical-specific subs), the Hacker News firehose filtered for pain-language patterns, and X conversations tracked through our ranked-search tooling. Every post is scored against three independent axes: relevance to startup-opportunity discovery, pain-signal intensity (how urgent, costly, or recurring the underlying problem appears to be), and demand-signal intensity (whether the speaker is actively looking for a solution, willing to pay, or describing a workaround they're unhappy with).

High-signal posts cluster into themes. An LLM then reads the cluster and articulates the underlying opportunity in the user's own language — what the pain is, who feels it, what people are doing about it today, and what a product that fixed it would look like. The result is a single opportunity card with a 1–10 score across six dimensions: pain severity, willingness to pay, urgency, market size, defensibility, and execution ease. Each card carries the verbatim quotes that inspired it, so you can verify the signal yourself in 30 seconds.

The list you get every Monday is just the top 10 opportunities by overall score from the previous seven days. We don't hand-curate, hand-edit, or accept paid placement. If a low-scoring item shows up, it's because the pipeline thought it deserved attention — and we let you decide.

Not a trend report

Discrete, build-able opportunities

Each item is a single product wedge you could ship in 90 days — not a vague macro trend like "AI in healthcare" that gives you nothing actionable.

Anchored to evidence

Real quotes, not LLM paraphrasing

Every score is backed by the actual posts and comments that produced it. You can verify the pain in a minute by clicking through to the source thread.

Same week

Fresh, not last quarter's leftovers

Everything here was first surfaced in the last seven days. We don't recycle old opportunities or pad the list with stale picks to hit a count.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly do I get for my email?

A weekly digest with the full list of the top 10 highest-scoring startup opportunities surfaced by our pipeline that week — including the verbatim pain evidence we found, the user persona we inferred, the suggested product type, and a link to the full opportunity card on MonetScope. The first email lands within minutes of you signing up; subsequent ones arrive every Monday.

How are these opportunities found?

Our pipeline ingests posts and comments from Reddit (50+ relevant subreddits), Hacker News, and X every day, scores each post for pain intensity and demand language, clusters recurring themes, and asks an LLM to articulate the underlying business opportunity. Each opportunity is anchored to specific user-language quotes so you can verify the signal yourself.

What does the score mean?

The overall score (1–10) combines six dimensions: pain severity, willingness-to-pay signal, urgency, market size, defensibility, and execution ease. A score of 8 or higher means the pipeline saw a high-frequency complaint with explicit demand language and weak competitive positioning. Treat the score as a discovery signal, not a verdict.

Is this list curated or fully automated?

Fully automated. We don't hand-pick, hand-edit, or pay for placement. The list is whatever our pipeline produced from real public discussions in the last seven days, sorted by score. That's the point: signal you can replicate.

Will you spam me?

No. One email per week, plus a one-time welcome. We will never sell or share your email. Unsubscribe is one click in every email — no questions, no retention email.
